About Us
How it all Began
We started with a belief that we could live a healthier lifestyle by getting closer to the food and household products we use. This meant shortening the supply chain, getting to know the farmers and their methods, and the ingredients in what we are using.
In researching what would help our community and planet, our journey took us to a regenerative farming class in Donegal, Ireland. Here we learned that farming and agriculture are important links to our well being and planet health. We learned the importance of small farms and robust local economy's which became the drive behind advocating between farmer and community. We began to build a network of local farms and families passionate about growing beyond organic food and manufacturing non-toxic household products.
We needed to find a name that represented our values and story. Following the regenerative farming class, we spent a few weeks in the UK. Here, we came across Avondale's. The name holds meaning to us in several ways.
A large part of regenerative farming has to do with learning to use the natural resources of the earth to heal and regenerate. In this desert climate of Southern Utah, water is arguably the most wasted resource we have. It seems fitting that the word Avondale refers to a dale (or valley) of water in Scotland that later became a market town.
Avondale's has continued to grow each year as loyal customers return for their favorite products. Our farm partners have been able to focus on better infrastructure and high quality yields as we've taken over their marketing. This puts more money in their pocket. Happy customers and farmers is what makes our world go round.
